One of my favorite soccer writers, Ives Galarcep, made a Jersey Shore refference on his blog today:
“As for my Top Five albums of 2009? Here are five I thought were pretty good (and yes, I listen to hip hop and dance music, though I don’t beat up the beat with a fist pump.)”

Well my intern buddy is saying his goodbyes. He moves to D.C. in early Jan. for a new job. I make two decent friends here and they both move away next month. Sucks, but at this point in my adult life I am kind of getting used to people moving away.
It always seems like they move away too soon …
Ok, so I just got an invite on facebook from a friend from High School. We hung out after High School too, but I haven’t seen her in a couple years. Anyway she is having her BDay party at Sidetrack (insert eye roll here).
I no longer have any love for Sidetrack (mainstay of Chicago gay bars), I have not for years. What is the straight girl obsession with gay bars? I get it that they like an enviroment where they don’t have to fear getting hit on by creeps or whatever, but beyond that, what?
From the invite:
“We will meet at 9pm over at Sidetrack Bar. Bring some attitude and your best Broadway voice! It will be a WICKED good time!”
Sidetrack has a sing along on Mondays (aparently). So now everyone who attends this event, who has no exposure to Boystown (although, let’s be honest, Boystown doesn’t have any charm anyway) before, will have stereotypes reinforced by their “fun night singing with the fags”.
I should not be annoyed, but I am. I suppose it doesn’t really matter too much though. Ah, just let it go Dave, let it go …
